Frequently Asked Questions

Is the initial Meet-and-Greet visit required to establish with Dr. Percy? Yes. It is a way for the patient and Dr. Percy to get to know each other, answer questions, and manage expectations. Ultimately, this is for the patient to decide if Dr. Percy is a good fit. This is a complimentary, non-medical visit.

Do you do anything with my health insurance? Yes! Although we do not bill your insurance, we will still work with them to get prior authorizations for medications, referrals, and advanced imaging studies.

Why should I pay extra for a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership when I already pay for health insurance? At Percy Medical, we aim to provide the highest quality healthcare with as little influence from insurance companies as possible. In the healthcare system, getting in for an appointment or in-touch with a doctor can be a laborious and frustrating process. The lack of direct access may lead you to an unfamiliar urgent care or emergency care provider that can take up an entire day of your time and may cost you thousands of dollars! This can be a major inconvenience if you have responsibilities to meet at work or home. Another reason to consider DPC is the level of control one gains in managing his or her healthcare. Many of physicians' choices regarding lab work, imaging studies, or medications are restricted by what the insurance company believes is "medically-indicated." We believe patients deserve a voice in directing their healthcare. If ordering a test gives you peace-of-mind, that is promoting health. This is personalized healthcare.

Do I need health insurance if I have a membership with Percy Medical? We strongly encourage every patient to acquire at least a catastrophic health plan to cover the unexpected emergencies. For many individuals and families, the cost of a health insurance plan is unrealistic and unsustainable. Direct primary care can help fill this gap and is able to address up to 95% of all medical needs. Whether you are an uninsured small business owner or you are in your last few years until you qualify for Medicare, Percy Medical is here to help.

What is required length of membership to sign-up? Our memberships are billed on a monthly basis and require at least a 3-month commitment.
