Meet Dr. Percy

First and foremost, you should know that I am deeply passionate about practicing medicine. Medicine can be a beautiful field with wonderful complexity. I have the privilege of working closely with my patients and their family members.  Every patient has a unique story and deserves careful attention. My intent is to form a partnership and help guide you and your family to better physical and mental health.

My path to medicine is far from typical. I spent two years after high school working on a lobster boat off of Harpswell, Maine when I realized that I needed to pursue an education to support my wife and newborn daughter. I graduated with my bachelor's in biology from the University of Maine at Augusta in 2015 with my mind set on the field of medicine. I attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating in 2019, and then completed a family medicine residency at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in 2022. For two years after residency, I worked at a private practice in Hampden, Maine developing my skills to provide patient-centered, personalized healthcare. I am board-certified in family medicine and have broad interests including obesity medicine, hormone replacement therapy, and regenerative medicine. I have a very open philosophy to practicing medicine including exploring alternative treatments.

Medicine is an ever-growing field, and we have only exposed the tip of the iceberg with our understanding. Doctors today are burdened with meeting the bureaucratic duties of the healthcare system and the expectations of insurance companies. This leaves little time for a physician to be reflective or investigative. Every physician wants to provide the best healthcare, but the constraints of the system have turned patients into numbers treated by algorithms. The distinction between doctors vs insurance companies practicing medicine has become uncertain. As a physician, I am here to help guide you through the complexities of medicine while retaining your autonomy to make decisions regarding what you feel is best for you and your family.
